I went to Kampala for business in October 2007. We flew to Entebbe through London, and British Airways lost our luggage. The next flight to Entebbe was four days away, so I had to by some new clothes in Kampala. This is me at the Entebbe airport with Holly from our client, The Salvation Army, and Henry, our driver. Pete Reilly, a partner at my firm had the camera.

One of our first trips was to the slums in Kampala to see where the Army was working. This is called the Katanga and was a huge area of little shacks.

We also saw area where they have buried the previous Kabaka. (Buganda kings)
The second day we travelled to Jinja to see the rural slums. This was the view when we crossed the Nile.

After we toured the grounds, these local kids were outside waiting to see the white people. Muzungu!Muzungu!

We also worked in the office for a few days to make sure the books were in order and visited the bank to resolve some efficiency and internal control issues. Overall, the trip was a success and we felt comfortable with the work The Salvation Army was doing in Uganda.
